The temperature starts to drop.....and so do the hemlines

Its all about the midi...

every celebrity is rocking this trend from Kim Kardashian to Ashley Tisdale, the midi's were about all over the catwalks this year and this is one trend that can't be missed. Practical and fashionable? Not very often those two words sit next to each other!!

Who better to put this look into their runway how than Victoria Beckham. Slimming, fitted, tailored and bang on trend!!

For those who think that this trend only works on models and girls with 6ft legs your wrong!! Pair with a chunky knit, big waist belt and long boots and be sure to walk tall!!

The highstreet are doing some great midi skirts at the moment just in time for the change of weather. Pair up with your boots and your ready for the harsh winter weather.

This is one trend you can wear from the office to the office party, from a lunch with the girls to a hot date!!

This trend is sticking around for a while so get experimenting with texture and colour!!

Jewel Brights...

With the Autumn now setting in the dark nights getting earlier this winter has something very different...

Jewel Brights!!

Purple, Green, Ruby Red and Blue

Finally winter fashion has taken a new turn we can now wear all summer brights throughout the dark cold winter months.

Brightly coloured dresses with thick woolen tights finally something to look forward to this season its all about the muted down brights of the summer. Its all the deep shades of purple, green and red.

It has been all over Vogue and over the catwalks everywhere so its time to shine as brightly as the jewels and bring some sparkle through the dark cold winter!!

Anyone else now excited for winter?...

Let's paint the town red!!

Autumn is here and that means one thing.... RED.
Red is everywhere the runway, the high street and all over the glossy magazines. There is so many shades right not with the transition brights of the vibrant 'rave' red, the classy poppy red and then the autumn chestnut reds. The knitwear is starting to creep in quicker and quicker as the weeks go on as the reds start to fade the dark nights start to draw in and its not even September yet!! I don't know if it's just me but all this winter collection that is starting to creep in, but I am actually starting to look forward to the chunky knitwear, the chestnut palettes and the layering. Red is the transitional colour this year this will take us from summer to the winter collections and then back through to spring so its time to paint the town red as the world of fashion is turning red!!

This is a man's world

Its that time of year again where the flirty florals transform into the masculine outlines of the autumn/winter collections.

Every year the shoulders get broader, the suits become even more manly and the hair and make up become even more androgynous. this year is no exception. Its time to trade in the brogues and chinos from the summer and swap them for the crisp white shirts, the black peg leg trousers and the oversized tuxedos. the hair is cropped and slick back, the make up is dark, cold and dramatic. It is all over the catwalks this year and is stronger than ever.

Donna Karan has managed to update this 'manly' look with the comeback of the pencil skirt this Autumn/winter with the use of grey instead of black. this look is still strong yet still feminine The collection this year features more feminine features than many of the others yet its still so statement.

The highstreet is evolving rapidly and getting better with every season. This trend dominates the hightreet with the likes of Topshop, Zara and River Island making this catwalk trend ready available on the highstreet.

It's time to become one of the boys!

Everyone has gone a little Gaga

Just received my monthly instalments of my fashion magazines only to find on two out of the three of the main magazines had the same cover star. Who should it be Lady Gaga and who said she was crazy and was going off the rails? Definitely a fashion icon of my time!! America's Vogue March Power Issue of course Lady Gaga fits perfectly who could be more of a power icon?  Now she is one woman that can pull off any outfit known to fashion, a dress made of meat to the Alexander McQueen slash-shoulder tailcoat this is one woman that has taken the fashion industry by storm.
To top it off Lady Gaga is also on the cover of I-D magazine and is hardly recognisable in comparison to Vogue. I-D seem to have let her monster side run wide with her alien like cheekbones and claw like nails. I love how she can look so different just by her clothes and make up. Not to mention how sweet and innocent she looks on the Mac make up advertisement.
Her name seems to sum it up she can be both Lady and a little bit Gaga!
